An adventure in the Scottish Highlands

The Highlands, wilderness and outdoor adventure — with accommodation and an outdoor partner that make it possible for everyone.

Plan your trip >

When you think of Scotland, you think of outdoor adventure. In the Cairngorms and at Loch Ness, this is right on your doorstep: two thoughtfully designed, accessible accommodation options have teamed up with a specialist outdoor organisation, so you don’t have to organise everything yourself. A real experience for the whole family.

The place

The Scottish Highlands are one big outdoor laboratory. What makes this place special is the collaboration: accommodation, the surrounding area and an outdoor organisation complement one another, ensuring that accessible accommodation and adventurous activities go hand in hand.

On the edge of the Cairngorms National Park lies Glenmore Lodge, Scotland’s national outdoor centre since 1948, whose mission is to help everyone discover their potential in the great outdoors. Eight miles from Loch Ness, Dundreggan tells the story of

Rewilding Centre: a story of nature’s recovery. Here, Trees for Life has been reviving sections of Caledonian primeval forest since 2008, home to more than 4,000 species of plants and animals.

The accommodation

Dundreggan Rewilding Centre

The new An Spiris building has four accessible rooms with adapted bathrooms and a spacious, adapted car park. Natural materials, plenty of light and a calm, low-stimulus interior make a stay here just as soothing as the natural surroundings.

Glenmore Lodge

Glenmore Lodge has two accessible rooms with adapted bathrooms and level access. The dining room and communal areas are also spacious and designed for accessibility — both functional and cosy, with the same natural, light-filled ambience.

“You don’t have to figure anything out for yourself here: accessible accommodation and adventure are already perfectly tailored to each other.”

The activities

The real difference lies in the collaboration: you stay in accessible accommodation and get out and about, without having to organise everything yourself. The adapted equipment is simply part of the activity.
